Last week the independent cultural scene in Linz staged a protest against the catastrophic financial situation. To show my support I was drawing images without colours as a metapher for the cluelessness of the involved policital parties. It’s been a while. After quite some time I found the motivation to redesign my webpage – I hope you’ll like it.

In the meantime I have been busy working on many different projects. Much steam went in my work in the field of culture where I had the chance to work for big things like the European Capital of Culture 2009, the Ars Electronica Festival and smaller autonomic initiatives like backlab, the cba and the independent art scene in Linz. Then I invested a good load of time into my musical career as a dj, I even had my own blog at dancendancen.com. And of course I proceeded with my work in the fields of art and activism. One these timehuggers has been the project watchdogwatcher. You can find out more about it here, should you be interested.

Another interesting thing was my trip being the CEO of the Socialdemocratic Party Austria, at least on twitter. Ha, what a fun ride. Find out more about it here!

Looking into the future, there are some interesting projects in the pipeline. I don’t want to give too much away, but in the near future I’ll try to combine video cameras, politicians and alcohol. Let’s see how that will work out.

Found in the streets of Linz

Lightfishes got sighted at the installation “In the park” at the ArtRoom Goethestreet in Linz:

Fantastic installation by the way, highly recommended.

On next wednesday, the 19th of September, the Karl Klar installation lightfishing will be resurrected a last time at the museum of the future, Ars Electronica Center in Linz. The remaining fishes got cleaned and winded up and will be given away for free.
Come, catch a lightfish and release it in your bathtub at home.

Furthermore, the austrian public service broadcaster will report about the installation on Sunday, the 23rd. of December 2007 in his show A.Viso.

The installation was a full success, about 350 of 500 lightfishes got catched. A few tousand spectators were standing around the building site and watching through the fence. Thanks to all visitors for coming and have fun with your fishes!
